Background: California's mandated water restriction required that potable water not be used to irrigate ornamental turf grass on public street medians. This has resulted in the die-off of all turf within the median on Valley View Avenue. The mature trees within the medians have also suffered due to the lack of irrigation. Many of the existing tree were in decline or had reached the end of their natural life span.

Work

Work included the removal of existing median improvements and construction of new median improvements including cobblestone, and water friendly trees, shrubs and ground cover. 

Project Area

The proposed project area was Valley View Avenue from Imperial Highway to Rosecrans Avenue.
