Public Safety is responsible for the overall coordination of programs and services designed to preserve the health, safety, and quality of life in the community. Several agencies make up the La Mirada Public Safety Team.
The La Mirada Community Sheriff’s Station was opened as a sub-station to the Norwalk Sheriff's Station in order to provide direct law enforcement services to La Mirada residents. The Norwalk Sheriff's Station is the City's service area station that is responsible for La Mirada, Norwalk, and parts of Unincorporated Whittier.
Non-emergent calls for service can be taken at the La Mirada Community Sheriff’s Station either in-person or by telephone, and anonymously if preferred. If requested, a Sheriff's deputy can respond to the address provided. Calls for service are handled 24 hours a day. Calls received after business hours are automatically forwarded to the Norwalk Sheriff Station. Residents are welcome to contact the La Mirada Public Safety Team with any concerns by calling (562) 902-2960. We look forward to assisting you.
La Mirada residents and businesses are also encouraged to work with Public Safety and get involved in its volunteer programs. La Mirada's volunteer programs include: Neighborhood Watch, Business Watch, Captain K9, HAM Watch, Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Program (NEPP) and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
