positive alternatives (003)

The Positive Alternatives program is a drug and alcohol prevention program for students in fifth and seventh grades.  The primary intent of the program is to prevent children from participating in delinquent behaviors.

The Positive Alternatives instructor is a civilian Public Safety Officer who serves as a positive role model for the children. In addition to teaching gang and drug awareness, Public Safety Officers help instill self-esteem, positive decision making skills, and conflict resolution techniques to the students.

For more information on the Positive Alternatives program, contact the La Mirada Community Sheriff’s Station at (562) 902-2960.
