The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responds to approximately 100 false burglar alarms every month in La Mirada. Responding to these false alarms is a tremendous expense of public safety resources.

In an effort to reduce the use of law enforcement resources and costs associated with responding to false alarms, alarm owners may be responsible for costs associated with the fourth and subsequent response to false alarms within a twelve month period.

Pursuant to La Mirada Municipal Code Section 9.06.145, the fine for a Sheriff's Department response to a false alarm incident is $50 for the fourth response, $100 for the fifth response, and $200 for the sixth and subsequent responses. You will be notified of the first three responses to the location and advised of charges if false alarms continue at the location.

If you have questions regarding false alarms, please contact the La Mirada Community Sheriff's Station at (562) 902-2960.
