A Plan for Reducing Disaster Risk

The City is developing a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP). The purpose of an LHMP is to evaluate the threats posed by natural disasters and establish a strategy for managing the risks. The LHMP will guide the City’s efforts to minimize the impact of disasters and climate change on La Mirada’s residents and businesses. This plan will also enable La Mirada to be eligible to receive state and federal hazard mitigation grants and disaster relief funds.
