The City of La Mirada has established the Emergency Temporary Outdoor Commercial Program (ETOCP) to provide certain existing uses with the opportunity to conduct operations outdoors during the implementation of COVID-19 social distancing protocols.
This program will allow existing gyms, fitness centers, hair salons, barbershops, personal care businesses (i.e.: esthetician, skin care, cosmetology, nail salon and massage), and places of worship to temporarily conduct their operations outdoors. Outdoor operations need to occur immediately outside of the business establishment or place of worship on private sidewalks, walkways, open areas, and parking lots.
The following link will take you to the program summary, Registration Form, Self-Certification Compliance Checklist and examples of outdoor barriers and canopies/tents: ETOCP & Registration Form
It is recommended you download the forms to your computer before completing and printing.
If the outdoor operation includes a canopy or tent, be advised that Building Permits are required for a canopy or tent that exceeds 350 square feet in area and/or 12 feet in height. The Building Permit must be obtained, and the installation inspected and approved prior to initiating any outdoor activities. The following link will take you to the Step by Step instructions for digital submittal of a Building Permit Application and plans: Online Submittal Steps.
Please download and review the instructions which include links to the needed forms and applications.
As a reminder, Building Permits may only be issued to Licensed Contractors and property owners.
