Protect the security of confidential information by shredding personal documents. The City of La Mirada and EDCO Disposal are sponsoring a free paper shredding event for La Mirada residents on Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to noon, at the La Mirada Community Gymnasium. Certified shredding trucks will shred all documents on site. Quantities are limited to three bankers boxes (10”x12”x15”) per household.
Unwanted electronics (e-waste) including TVs, computer monitors, printers, fax machines, and VCRs will also be collected. No household hazardous waste material will be accepted at this location.
Free mulch will also be available while supplies last. This is a self-serve, self-loading service, and participants are asked to bring their own cans/bags and shovel. A limit of 3 cans/bags per vehicle will be enforced. Those planning to haul mulch in an open truck or trailer must remember to bring a tarp to cover the material.
This event is limited to La Mirada residents only. Proof of residency is required (i.e. CA Driver's License or utility bill). The La Mirada Community Gymnasium is located at 15105 Alicante Road. Residents are asked to enter from Alicante Road.
