The City of La Mirada and AARP Income Tax Assistance Program are offering free federal and state income tax assistance by trained volunteers from February 1 through April 12.
This program is available to seniors and low-income community members at the La Mirada Resource Center. Taxpayers are asked to bring records of income and deductions including forms W-2, W2P, and 1099. They should also bring statements showing interest and dividends, a copy of last year’s tax return, and any other pertinent records. Other information such as identification and proof of health insurance will also be needed.
Income tax assistance for seniors will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and tax assistance for lower income residents will be available on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Appointments are highly encouraged as space is limited.
