Polly's Pies Honored
La Mirada's Polly's Pies, located at 14840 Beach Blvd., was recognized by the City Council for its significant community involvement.
A member of the La Mirada community since 2012, Polly’s Pies has sponsored various City events and programs by providing free refreshments for the Salute to Veterans, Spring Beautification, All That Dance quarterly senior dances, Senior Health Fair, and the Foster Park Neighborhood Clean-Up and Celebration event. Polly’s Pies has also sponsored the Chili Holiday Celebration by supplying refreshments and adopting a holiday tree for the City’s Festival of Trees Silent Auction benefiting the La Mirada Community Foundation.
More recently, the annual community sponsored Thanksgiving Dinner at Foster Road Elementary School was on November 21, 2013. This event is catered by a local restaurant and serves 500 children and adults who reside in the Foster Park neighborhood. Days before the dinner, event organizers were informed the restaurant caterer had gone out of business. Polly’s Pies was notified of the situation and without hesitation stepped in to cater the event. The City received numerous comments from residents who were appreciative of Polly’s Pies actions and dedication to serving the community.
