City of La Mirada Recognizes April as Public Schools Month
The La Mirada City Council proclaimed April 2018 as Public Schools month at the Tuesday, April 24 council meeting.
America’s public schools serve as an essential role in the lives of our children by instilling a love of learning, teaching them the skills to purse satisfying and productive lives, and educating them about the richness of cultural diversity, which gives our nation its flexibility and strength.
“Public Schools Month provides a great opportunity to recognize the dedicated instructors, staff and administrators of the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District (NLMUSD),” says City Manager Jeff Boynton.
NLMUSD’s mission is to empower students to become life-long learners and productive citizens and to do so NLMUSD offers several programs and resources available to students, parents, and community members.
