La Mirada Residents Appointed to Advisory Bodies
The City Council recently made appointments to several City Advisory Bodies, including the Public Safety Commission, Youth Council, and La Mirada Community Foundation.
Narcis Brasov was appointed to serve on the Public Safety Commission. Mr. Brasov is an attorney at Brasov Law, a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Trinity Law School, and a teacher at Norwalk High School. He is a volunteer at Grace Evangelical Free Church of La Mirada. Mr. Brasov was interviewed by the City Council at the March 13 Study Session meeting.
Benjamin Coronado was appointed to serve on the Youth Council. Mr. Coronado is a tenth grade student at La Mirada High School. He participated in the Youth in Government program and serves as Deputy Secretary General in the Model United Nations. Mr. Coronado is also a member of Associated Student Body at his school.
David Harbaugh was appointed to serve on the La Mirada Community Foundation. Mr. Harbaugh previously served on the Public Safety Commission in June 2011.
Jim Zoellner was also appointed to serve on the La Mirada Community Foundation. Mr. Zoellner is a Partner Attorney with Floyd Skeren Manukian Langevin, LLP. He has also participated in Love La Mirada Day of Service, La Mirada Relay for Life, and La Mirada Pop Warner. Mr. Zoellner was interviewed by the City Council at the March 13 Study Session meeting.
The City’s advisory members serve as an important part of the City’s policy-making process. They are appointed by the City Council and are responsible for performing studies on municipal issues and rendering opinions and advice to the City Council, as well as providing input on community goals.
