Steve Soto Appointed to La Mirada Planning Commission
The City Council recently appointed Steve Soto to the Planning Commission. Mr. Soto has been a La Mirada resident since 1991, and has dedicated his time to serve the community. He served on the Public Safety Commission from June 1999 to January 2001. He also served on the Planning Commission from January 2000 to January 2001 and the Community Services Commission since October 2015. Mr. Soto has held Economic Development Manager positions with the cities of Westminster, Orange and Norco. He has also served as a baseball coach at Norwalk High School.
The City’s advisory members serve as an important part of the City’s policy-making process. They are appointed by the City Council and are responsible for performing studies on municipal issues and rendering opinions and advice to the City Council, as well as providing input on community goals. La Mirada has seven advisory bodies including the Community Services Commission, Planning Commission, Public Safety Commission, Historical Preservation Advisory Council, Senior Council, Youth Council, and the La Mirada Community Foundation.
