La Mirada Commissioners Recognized for Dedicated Service
The La Mirada City Council recognized Jim Reich and Dr. Rick Bee for their years of outstanding service to the community during Tuesday’s regular meeting.
Jim Reich served on the Public Safety Commission from August 2012 to July 2017. During his tenure, Mr. Reich reviewed crime and traffic statistics and made recommendations to the City Council on enhancements to traffic circulation. Through his efforts, Mr. Reich helped to continue La Mirada’s record of being a safe community.
Dr. Rick Bee served as a La Mirada Community Foundation Member from June 2007 to August 2017. During his years of serve, the Foundation improved the quality of life in La Mirada by supporting services and programs designed to meet the social, physical, developmental, and recreational needs of local residents. As a result of Dr. Bee’s efforts on the Foundation, much funding was raised for worthwhile programs in the La Mirada community.

The City’s advisory bodies serve as an important part of the City’s policy-making process. Advisory body members are appointed by the City Council and are responsible for performing studies on municipal issues and rendering opinions and advice to the City Council, as well as providing input on community goals.
