La Mirada Activity Center Hosts Senior Health Fair
The City of La Mirada will host a Senior Health Information and Safety Fair on Wednesday, September 13 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Activity Center. The health fair offers health screenings, health and wellness organizations, and housing, education, and safety information.
Health screenings will include blood pressure and glucose testing provided by the Biola University Nursing Department, stroke screening provided by SCAN, dental screening provided by La Mirada Family Dental Works and New Age Dental, derma skin provided by Whittier Hospital Medical Center, food and nutrition demonstrations provided by PIH Health, and much more.
“All older adults in La Mirada are encouraged to attend this free Senior Health fair,” says Community Services Director Lori Thompson. “The information and free screenings are truly beneficial.”
Boxed lunches are available during the health fair through Café on the Green for a suggested donation of $2.75. To reserve a lunch, call (562) 947-8787 by Monday, September 11. Transportation is available through La Mirada Transit. Reserve a ride by calling (562) 943-6776.
