City of La Mirada Recognizes July as Parks and Recreation Month
The La Mirada City Council proclaimed July 2017 as Parks and Recreation month. Parks and recreation programs maintain the quality of life, promote good health among citizens, and contribute to the well-being of the community.
La Mirada is recognized as a Playful City USA for its efforts to create more playable, family-friendly activities in the community. Playful City USA honors cities and towns across the country for taking steps to make it easy for kids to get the balanced and active play needed to thrive.
Thousands of La Mirada children, adults, and seniors benefit from the wide range of services, facilities, and programs offered by the City including swimming lessons, day camps, recreation classes, workshops, and special events.
“The City of La Mirada provides top quality recreation programs, beautiful parks, and newly upgraded playgrounds,” says Mayor Ed Eng. “All residents are encouraged to take part in recreation activities at local parks and City facilities this summer.”
City facilities offering diverse programming and services include the Activity Center, Community Gymnasium, Resource Center, and Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center.
