Historic Neff Estate to Receive New Roofs
La Mirada City Council approved plans and specifications for roof rehabilitation work at the Neff Estate during Tuesday’s City Council meeting. The condition of the roofing at the Neff House, George House and Carriage Barn has declined recently and roof leaks have occurred periodically.
The proposed project includes structural roof upgrades, removal and replacement of existing roof wood shingles and roof tiles with in-kind materials, and preparation of substrate materials. The project will also include repair or replacement of damaged wood, insulation and rain gutters.
“The project is an effort to better preserve and promote the historic La Mirada heritage this site represents,” says Public Works Director Mark Stowell.
The roofing project will be funded primarily through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
