La Mirada Community Foundation Scholarships Available Jan. 18.
The annual La Mirada Community Foundation Scholarship program is now accepting applications from qualified high school seniors. Applications can be accessed on the City’s website, at La Mirada City Hall, and Resource Center, and local high schools.
The Bob Jenkins Scholarship is available to students who have provided significant community service, reside in La Mirada, and have applied to an accredited college. Applicants must complete an essay on the value of community service and their involvement in the community.
The Ray Haugh Vocational Scholarship is available to students who have provided community service and/or volunteered in La Mirada, reside in La Mirada, and are enrolled in a vocational training program or trade school.
Scholarship recipients are selected based on meeting academic requirements, the scope and duration of their community service, and their impact on the La Mirada community. The deadline to submit all required documents is Wednesday, April 5, 2017, 4:30 p.m. at La Mirada City Hall, 13700 La Mirada Boulevard.
